This is the place where I put my random thoughts that I like to share with you all. It's also a place where I could post about things that interest me such as movies, TV shows, Games and just anything that's part of the Pop culture that I find necessary to post about.
Here’s what I’m going to do. I’m just going to put images that pops into my head when I think of 2007. Random and not in any order. Doing this as I go along.
Well, actually there’s a lot of stuff I remember from 2007 and I’m too lazy to find all the images. Hehe
For the past few weeks, there has been many casting news on the upcoming live action adaptation of the Dragon Ball. I didn’t post those casting news because I was waiting for the official casting of the main characters in this movie to be completed so I could put it in a single post. Here it is together with the casting description courtesy of CHUD.com:
Goku – Justin Chatwin
18 years old, Goku is considered uncool and unpopular at school, but he is in fact an extremely talented martial arts fighter who gets rigorous training from his grandfather, Gohan. After the death of his grandfather by the evil Lord Piccolo, Goku finds his destiny in his grandfather’s dying request that he find Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the dragonballs to take over the world. Trained by Master Roshi, aided by Bulma and Yamcha, friends he meets along the way, Goku proves himself a formidable, almost undefeatable fighter. On many dangerous adventures to find the remaining Dragon Balls and thus save the world, Goku conquers physical and emotional challenges, ultimately saving the world but clearly impelled to spend his life searching for the Dragon Balls with his trusty companions.
Piccolo – James Marsters
An ancient being who despite his humanoid appearance, is from an alien race determined to take over the world. Piccolo is the cursed ruler of a demonic race who nearly destroyed Earth 2000 years ago, and with the coming of the eclipse and the possession of all seven Dragon Balls, he’s prepared to free himself and do the job right this time. Crafty and smart, Piccolo has some disturbing news for Goku, namely that the boy is actually a Saiyan who’s destined to join Piccolo as his right hand in destroying and enslaving the planet.
Bulma – Emmy Rossum
20s, female, pretty, with great intelligence behind her gleaming eyes, Bulma is a determined, competitive young woman whose father’s five star Dragon Ball was stolen by Lord Piccolo, and who believes that she can harness their unlimited energy and change the world like Edison or Einstein. Bulma, who has a DBE (a Dragon Ball locator device), teams up with Goku, and with him meets up with Master Roshi and Yamcha as they attempt to collect the missing Dragon Balls before Piccolo can destroy the world. A resourceful and courageous young woman who’s also a weapons expert, she overcomes many obstacles with her colleagues, only to find the seven Dragon Balls ultimately snatched from their grasp–but it’s clear she’s going to continue searching for them with Goku and Yamcha
Yamcha – Joon Park
20s, “the bad boy who has no trouble attracting women,” An ingenious young man whose utililty truck is the Swiss Army Knife of trucks–every tool and gear imaginable sprouts from its body–Yamcha joins Goku, Bulma (with whom he becomes romantically involved) and Master Yoshi on their quest to find the seven Dragon Balls before Piccolo
Mai – Eriko Tamura
Late 20s, female, her features exotic, sexy but deadly, dressed in gleaming black, with weapons strapped all over her body, she’s a martial arts expert and Lord Piccolo’s chief enforcer.
Chi Chi – Jamie Chung
Goku’s lifelong love interest, Chi Chi is an attractive, tom boy-ish young woman who has grown up with Goku. She has studied martial arts and has always suspected that Goku possesses talents that are unusual and extraordinary. After Goku embarks on his journey to redeem his grandfather’s death, Chi Chi meets up with Goku and his crew at a tournament of champions where their mutual attraction finally heats up during a training session.
Master Roshi – Chow Yun Fat
This older man is a good friend of Goku’s grandfather, Gohan, and Goku comes to enlist his help after his grandfather is killed. Although he looks like a beggar, Roshi is one of the world’s most fearsome fighters. Master Roshi begins Goku’s rigorous training to prepare him for the adventure of finding and fighting for the seven Dragon Balls to save the world from Piccolo’s destructive plan. A wise, somewhat wry man who knows as much about human nature as he does about martial arts, Master Roshi is impressed with Goku’s fighting but reminds him of his failings as well.
The cast has been pretty weird. Marsters as Piccolo and Rossum as Bulma seems good. I’m not too sure about Yamcha and Chi Chi (she’s too hot for Chi Chi LOL). And Chow Yun Fat as Roshi..that could either be the greatest casting ever or the most f***ed up. LOL It’s Chow Yun Fat, I think he can pull it off.
Original Japanese opening of Dragon Ball Z
This video brings back memories.
We all know what happened to Benazir Bhutto, the former prime minister of Pakistan. It’s such a tragic event in Pakistan. Things went from bad to worse over there. I feel sorry for the Pakistanis who hoped for a brighter new year with the upcoming elections only for those hopes to be shot down literally. A bitter end of an already tumultuous year.
This reminds me of the time when I was an idealistic young teenager. While every kid were busy with their Pokemon, I was hyped about the first Korean summit between Kim Dae Jung & Kim Jong Il. While everyone was singing their favourite songs when they go for a shower, I was busy thinking about how peace could be achieved in the middle east as I take my shower. When everyone else was talking about how Iraq is going to usher American’s colonialism in middle east, I had hopes that the Americans would guide Iraq to stand on her feet and then leave her alone as quickly as possible.
But nop….people get killed, bombs blown up, threats made by one country to another. I used to read the middle east section of the newspaper and be up to date on the events there. Now, all I do is just read movie reviews and comic strips.
Recently, I saw this documentary about the fall of the Berlin wall. Very symbolic and emotional. I wish I could be there. It happened at November 1989, I was born in February that same year. I just wish that all of us can break the wall that you can see below.
It might be the first step towards a better world. And that ladies and gentlemen, is one of the last few optimism or hope left in me.
This may not be a big deal to you guys but it is to me! Just realized that this blog has just reached the 1000 views mark. Yeah! Wow, never expected it to reach that amount of views. I thought I would probably get bored of this blog after few weeks and just abandon it. Well, this makes me feel more motivated to continue this site. :-)
So I started back at Nov 15…so that’s like a month…1000 views in a month, is that like the average growth rate of a new blog? Am I going too slow or too fast? I don’t know…who cares :-p
Comments
I like to thank those few people who cared enough to leave a comment in this blog. Yeah I know, more than half of the comments are spams (which I deleted) and pingbacks But there are few ‘real’ comments so I thank you guys again.
Pingbacks
I have tons of pingbacks and this is because I usually refer back to a previous post whenever I write a new one. The reason is that I see this blog as a whole and not as a place divided by posts that are independent from each other. In other words, I want people to not just read one post but try browse to my other ones.
As a gift, here’s a funny bad ass picture I made from the upcoming Rambo movie. Enjoy.

What’s funny is that the guy who got stabbed in the pic looks like someone I know Haha!!
PS: Happy (belated) Aidil Adha to the Muslims and Merry Christmas to the Christians (well actually to everyone because everybody celebrates Christmas, the ‘highly commercialized consumer culture’ version of Christmas if you know what I mean)
Honestly, I don’t like the Resident Evil movies. You can change stuff from the game but these movies are radically different from the games. Sure there’s Jill and there’s Claire but they became secondary characters. I accepted Alice initially until they decided to give her superpowers WTF!!
But I know that someone will eventually reboot the franchise and make a new Resident Evil trilogy that will be much closer to the games. I know this will happen because: 1) Hollywood have a tendency to reboot franchise now (eg Batman Begins, Casino Royale, JJ Abrams Star Trek) 2) Resident Evil is a big franchise. What’s even better than making lots of money with the previous resident evil movies? Make more movies but this time make it more faithful to the games so they can grab money from the fans.
So then I thought hey, let me try to make my own cast list for a Resident Evil movie that I want to see. So here we go:
Oh well, at least we can still look forward to a CG movie that’s coming out called Resident Evil: Degeneration. Looks like both Leon and Claire are back (yeah! RE2 reunion!) and it’s set in the airport. I wouldn’t be surprise to see Samuel L Jackson in this one, “Get these muthaf***ing zombies off this muthaf***ing plane!!!!”LOL
There comes a day where I don’t feel like posting something specific. So here’s another random post. Random away~
My lil cousin is all grown up
LOL…my 9 year old cousin stayed at my house for the day and something funny happened. He said he wanted to use the internet and play at those online games websites (eg Miniclip, CoffeeBreakArcade, etc). He did visit those sites and played games..at first.
I left him for awhile and later when I came back, he asked me how to erase the list of websites that he visited. His face was red and I think he was sweating too. Hmmm..is this what I think it is?So I said I don’t know how and he immediately panicked. Well, I checked at the website history and I laughed my ass off!!
Here’s what I found (Possibly Not Safe For Work/NSFW):
bodygirl.com, saxxy.com (poor kid, didn’t know how to spell ’sexy’), kiss.com, love.com, telanjang.com (‘telanjang’ means naked in malay) and jubur.com (jubur means ass). ROFLMAO!!!!! WTF!! HAHA Do those websites go anywhere….
***pause…looks around…types the URLs***
I erased the History files but didn’t tell him how to do it or else it would encourage him more to find those type of sites. Good thing he doesn’t have internet access at home. Btw, I don’t hold any responsibility if you wish to try those site addresses
Peter Jackson is back for ‘The Hobbit’ & a sequel
It’s official, Peter Jackson and New Line have settled their differences to move forward with the Hobbit and a sequel (most probably a bridge between Hobbit and LOTR). Check the press release here.
Points I like to make:
I think New Line Cinema decided to be friends with Peter Jackson again because their recently released fantasy film ‘the Golden Compass” wasn’t a success.
Is Peter directing this? He will be an executive producer for sure but what about directing? He’s going to busy with the Tintin trilogy together with Steven Spielberg. If Peter can’t direct so who’s going to? Sam Raimi? I think his wife should direct it, Fran Walsh. She shot some scenes in LOTR if i’m not mistaken.
I haven’t read the Hobbit yet. I know it’s about the adventure of Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and a group of Dwarves. Later in the story, Bilbo found the ring which is given to Frodo in LOTR. So expect Ian Holms and Ian Mckellen to return.
The sequel to the Hobbit/ a bridge between Hobbit & LOTR…interesting.
Shooting Training
That’s it for now….Master of Unlocking Part 2 is coming
Or if you’re too lazy to click just watch it below
**UPDATED 19/12/07***
I noticed that a lot of people stumble upon this post through the search engine and may not be aware that the official version of the trailer is in another post.
Or if you’re too lazy to click just watch it below
***
HOLY F***!! DARK KNIGHT TRAILER LEAKED!!! The previous video was removed so here’s another one. Or you could just go watch I Am Legend in theatres and watch the trailer on the big screen.
In case this one gets taken out, here’s my attempt at describing it:
WB logo/ Legendary Pictures/ DC Comics
The Joker – “You changed things…forever. There’s no going back. To them you’re just a freak. Like me!” [Shots of the BatPod, Bruce Wayne, Batman crash on top of a car]
Explosion and then we see bunch of burning Joker cards (Joker laughs)
Batman theme starts
Gordon explaining to the Mayor about the Joker. “No name, No other alias and nothing in his pocket but knives“
[Joker is sitting in prison like in the picture we saw]
Joker – “Evening, Commissioner..”
[Close up of Joker's messed up face]
Joker – “Why so serious?!”
Batman theme intensifies.
Quick cuts of Batman riding his BatPod, Joker using a rocket launcher to blow stuff, a memorial in Gotham, “The Batcave”, someone smashing the Bat signal, Joker crash a party
Explosions, BatPod crash through glass, Batmobile crashing, explosions, Joker clapping his hands in prison, explosions again, Gordon, EXPLOSIONS, a truck got turned over
Joker – “It’s all part of the plan“
Joker shooting at Batman, “Hit me!”, Batman (in his BatPod) & Joker confront each other on th streets of Gotham.
Joker – “Let’s put a smile on that face **Laugh**”
It was around 1998, my cousins and brothers all spend a night at my grandma’s house because my aunt was getting married the next day. One of my cousins decided to bring his Playstation. We all gathered around to watch him play while closing all the lights. There’s a message on the screen…”This game contains scenes of explicit violence and gore”…..What? What kinda game is this? Then the title appears accompanied by a deep scary voice.
I haven’t seen Resident Evil Extinction yet although my friend sort of spoiled the ending for me.
***SPOILERS****
Alice creates an army of ‘Alice clones’ to take down Umbrella
***SPOILERS****
Honestly, I don’t like the Resident Evil movies. You can change stuff from the game but these movies are radically different from the games. Sure there’s Jill and there’s Claire but they became secondary characters. I accepted Alice initially until they decided to give her superpowers WTF!!

So then I thought hey, let me try to make my own cast list for a Resident Evil movie that I want to see. So here we go:
Chris Redfield – David Boreanaz
Jill Valentine – Claire Forlani
Barry Burton – Bruce Willis
Rebecca Chambers – Nora Zehetner
Albert Wesker – Val Kilmer
That’s it for now, I will post more Resident Evil cast in part 2 (eg Leon, Claire, Carlos etc). Now I’ll leave you guys with the hilarious video of the original Resident Evil intro Hehe :-p Enjoy!
I was waiting for the release of the Speed Racer trailer today (hence, the randomness of the previous post. While I was waiting I decided what the heck, let’s just post something to kill time) Now here it is http://movies.aol.com/movie/speed-racer-2008/28066/main.
I’m still trying to get it load…probably the AOL server is busy. Damn! But fear not…Cinematical.com to the rescue!! You can watch the trailer from their site. Go check it out.
Really cool trailer! My thoughts:
The original anime tune in the beginning Hehe. I hope we’ll hear that in the movie intro. I was disappointed when the classic Transformers theme was absent from the live action movie. The least Michael Bay could do was just put it during the Main title scene.
Ok, it kinda reminds me of Spy Kids 3D. It’s suppose to be a family movie anyway.
“From the Creators of the Matrix Trilogy”… I can see average moviegoers going w00t! over that. Or here in Brunei, those average teenage moviegoers would go like “Gila!! Siuk ni eh! Anu dari urang buat Matrix!“
“..is like a religion” – haha
hmm…the manager….is that the propaganda guy from V for Vendetta?
John Goodman as Speed’s dad. Perfect
Crazy Kung Fu action
That’s Rain!! The Korean Superstar! I remember him from that Korean Drama ‘Full House’ Haha..Looks like he’s one of the bad guys
With everything else CGI, I’m glad they’re using real monkeys.
I like Matthew Fox as Racer X at the end. “.. if they don’t destroy him first“
Synopsis
Hurtling down the track, careening around, over and through the competition, Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a natural behind the wheel. Born to race cars, Speed is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless. His only real competition is the memory of the brother he idolized—the legendary Rex Racer—whose death in a race has left behind a legacy that Speed is driven to fulfill.Speed is loyal to the family racing business, led by his father, Pops Racer (John Goodman), the designer of Speed’s thundering Mach 5. When Speed turns down a lucrative and tempting offer from Royalton Industries, he not only infuriates the company’s maniacal owner (Roger Allam) but uncovers a terrible secret—some of the biggest races are being fixed by a handful of ruthless moguls who manipulate the top drivers to boost profits. If Speed won’t drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line.
The only way for Speed to save his family’s business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci), Speed teams with his one-time rival—the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox)—to win the race that had taken his brother’s life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible.
Based on the classic series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida, the live-action “Speed Racer” will showcase the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that have become the benchmarks of the Wachowski brothers’ films.
